Specify path for spooling recorded data?

Post by neville » Tue Oct 20, 2020 10:55 pm

I'd like to be able to specify an alternate path for bookmap to spool recorded data -- i.e. not on my book (C:/) drive. I'd like to have it write to a secondary SSD.

Is this possible now? If not, would you please consider it for a future release?

Thank you!

Hi!
- you can only specify the configuration folder when installing Bookmap;
- if Bookmap is already installed you can move config folder to some other location and use a symbolic link to it. More info here. Please create some folders and test with them first.

Hi - Thank you for your response and the symlink suggestion. It took me a while to get around to doing it because I decided to install a regular HDD and spool to that instead of to a SSD.

I was able to set up a "directory junction" (as they call it in windows) and verified that Bookmap now caches to the linked directory on the HDD as desired.

Much appreciated!  ;)
